Habits that know your schedule
Daily, specific weekdays, or once a week. Counter habits with a daily target — “8 glasses” shows an 8-step counter, not a checkbox. The page splits itself into today’s habits and rest-day habits automatically.
Grindful turns your task manager, habit tracker, goals, pomodoro timer and journal into a character sheet. Every completion rolls for a critical hit. Every day rolls your luck. Every relapse costs you HP. And every single number in that economy is a slider you control.
No card required · 10 languages on web · Web and mobile · Your journal is never sent to AI unless you say so
Strip the game away and you still have a serious productivity system.
One task list, three views: a card grid, a 3-column Kanban board, and a 2×2 Eisenhower matrix. Drag a card between quadrants and its urgent/important flags rewrite themselves. Drop an overdue task into “To Do” and the board marks it overdue for you. Nested subtask checklists, task dependencies with loop detection, and six filters that all live in the URL.
Daily, specific weekdays, or once a week. Counter habits with a daily target — “8 glasses” shows an 8-step counter, not a checkbox. The page splits itself into today’s habits and rest-day habits automatically.
Chain habits into a morning or evening routine. Each extra habit in the chain adds +0.1× to the bonus, capping at 2.0×. A guided runner walks you through it one step at a time and resumes where you left off.
Count completed tasks, or log minutes. The card shows the right unit and the right deadline band — active, due soon, past due.
Tasks, goal deadlines, expanded habit schedules and journal entries on one month grid, each overlay independently toggleable. Connect Google Calendar and your external events land alongside them.
25/5/15 with a 4-pomodoro cycle, a progress ring, and the countdown mirrored into your browser tab. Wrap focus time in a named session with a category and a target.
Now here’s the part that keeps you coming back.
Every task, habit, goal, journal entry and mood check-in rolls the dice. A crit lands with a full-screen burst and multiplies the payout. Ships at 15% for ×1.5 — and both numbers are sliders. Set the chance anywhere from 0 to 100% and the multiplier from 1.0× to 3.0×. Turn it off entirely if you’d rather it were boring.
0.8 + (luck / 100) × 0.7Every calendar day rolls you a luck score from 1 to 100 that scales everything you earn. The formula is 0.8 + (luck / 100) × 0.7 — a 1 pays 0.80×, a 100 pays 1.50×. Five bands from Bad to Excellent. Above 1.2× the app tells you it’s your day. Below 0.9× it commiserates.
Every habit you’re quitting becomes a demon with a live clock counting your clean time. Slip up and you don’t just reset a number — you face a boss fight screen showing exactly what it costs, and you confirm by conceding defeat.
And the penalty grows with your streak. Relapsing on day 2 costs 10 HP. Relapsing on day 30 costs 50. The demon’s power scales with everything you had to lose.
base + (max − base) × min(streak/30, 1)Define your own skills and attach tasks and goals to them. Each one levels on its own rising curve — level 1→2 costs 100 XP, level 5→6 costs 500 — with overflow carrying into the next level. Tasks pay 20 skill XP, goals pay 100, and there’s a chance your dedication pays off with a surprise bonus on top.
Name an amulet, pick its color and icon, and stack up to three different stat effects at power levels you choose. The forge quotes the price server-side — sum of effects × 10 × number of effects — mints it straight into your inventory, and refunds half if you ever dismantle it.
Rest mode with teeth. While you’re in the tavern you stop earning XP and coins — but you also can’t lose HP, bad habits can’t hurt you, and your habit streaks are shifted forward by exactly the length of your stay so nothing breaks. Minimum stay 24 hours, so it’s a real rest, not a loophole.
Task XP by priority. Coins per habit. How much a relapse costs. Crit chance and crit multiplier. Skill-up odds and bonus size. 28 economy values, 6 RNG switches and 7 RNG parameters — all per-account, all editable, all in one Settings page. Want a hardcore run where relapses cost 100 HP? Set it. Want the randomness gone entirely? Six switches turn it off.
Most gamified apps hand you their difficulty curve. Grindful hands you the knobs.
Not everything worth tracking is a quest. Some of it is just how the day went.
A dated daily journal that autosaves as you type. Write something substantial and it pays out like anything else — run through the same crit, luck and event multipliers.
A five-face mood picker and three “grateful for” slots at the top of every day. One tap, five seconds, and it feeds a 30-day mood trend on your analytics page.
Built-in tracking for the five daily Islamic prayers — Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha — with a monthly consistency calendar. A day only counts toward your streak when all five are logged.
Story turns everything you’ve written into a real page-flipping book — a cover, a divider page for each month showing that month’s dominant mood, and every entry laid out as a proper book page. Not a scrolling list: the app measures your rendered text and paginates it into physical pages.
Not a chatbot bolted on the side. Six specific jobs, each one ending in a form you review before anything saves.
Pick an archetype (The Detective, The Strategist, The Explorer, The Athlete, The Artist, The Monk, The Founder, The Scholar) or describe your own, and get a whole themed starter kit: goals, habits, life areas and skills. Tick what you keep.
Your first one is free, even without a subscription.
Point at any goal and get 10–20 ordered subtasks, each with a priority and a matched skill from your own list.
Type call dentist next tue, high prio and get back a structured task with a real calendar date. The server resolves “next tue” itself and re-checks the math.
Pull actionable tasks out of a synced calendar event’s description, linked back to the source event.
For a bad habit you’re fighting, get 3–5 positive habits to do instead when the urge hits.
A short read on how your week actually went, a mood trend, and up to three next steps.
For the weekly coach, the server computes your numbers itself — completions, streaks, average mood, word counts — and the model is only allowed to phrase them. It is explicitly forbidden from inventing or changing a single figure.
Your actual journal text is sent only if you turn on a switch in Settings that ships off. A missing answer counts as “no”, never as permission. Even with it on, the app prefers the aggregates. Calendar extraction runs only on an event you choose, and sends only that event’s text — nothing else from your calendar.

No. Six switches in Settings turn off every random layer, and you can set every reward to whatever you like. Underneath it’s a straightforward task, habit and goal manager.
That’s up to you, literally. 28 reward values and 7 RNG parameters are yours to set. Ship-defaults are a starting point, not a design decision you’re stuck with.
Check into the Tavern first. Your streaks are shifted forward by the length of your stay, you can’t lose HP, and bad habits can’t touch you.
Not unless you switch it on, and the switch ships off. The weekly coach works from numbers the server computes itself.
Yes — Flutter, 26 screens, one-to-one with the web app, against the same backend.
